Tarheel
Building Systems of New Bern, Inc. was founded in September 1981 by Henry
"Bud" Stilley and Burney Hawkins, who serve as corporate officers
and have 62 years of building experience between them.
The firm is well known in eastern North Carolina as a
specialist in all aspects of metal building design and erection, conventional
commercial, commercial interiors, and retrofit roofing. Tarheel has
successfully completed all work contracted for and awarded to the
corporation, which currently exceeds 600 completed projects. The
construction expertise that has made Tarheel successful in Eastern North
Carolina has also been utilized on projects in several distant locations
including Estonia, West Virginia, and South Carolina.
The corporation has never defaulted on a contract or been
involved in litigation arising from work performed under contract. No
officer of the corporation has ever declared bankruptcy, nor has the
corporation. Tarheel Building Systems maintains
an Unlimited General Contractor's License (#21175) in North Carolina and a
Certificate of Authority for General Contracting in West Virginia. In
addition to maintaining proper licensure required by various building
jurisdictions, the firm maintains factory certified erection crews,
unparalleled design and CAD capabilities, and prides itself on an
excellent working relationship with all subcontractors and suppliers.
One hundred eighty years of combined construction
experience at management and supervisory levels insure continued confidence
with future clients and repeat customers.
